Pefkohori is a cozy village, located on the coast of Kassandra Bay in the southeastern part of the Kassandra Peninsula. The first settlement on this place is considered the ancient city of Aegi. Archaeological excavations have also found traces of a settlement of the Roman period. Among the interesting finds on this territory is a treasure trove with coins of King Lisimah.
The modern village was founded in the late 16th century. For over 200 years (until 1965) it was called Kapsokhora ("heat" in Greek). However, it then got its present name, which comes from the words "pine" and "place".And no wonder, because the village is surrounded by pines.
It is the combination of the scent of pine forest, magnificent sandy beaches and clear sea water that makes this place so attractive for travelers.
